Electric Vehicle Safety, Pedestrian Protection, and Navigating Insurance Providers
Wednesday Oct 09, 2024
Wednesday Oct 09, 2024
Welcome back to the Injury Law Pod! In this episode, Eric Bartlett discusses three important topics in the realm of automobile safety and insurance. The first topic centers around the rising safety concerns with electric vehicles. The increased weight of electric cars, such as Teslas, are presenting challenges for current roadway safety mechanisms like guard rails and concrete barriers, which were not designed to withstand impacts from these heavier vehicles. Eric also highlights the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration’s efforts to push for vehicle designs that better protect pedestrians. Finally, Eric touches on a new Consumer Reports ranking of insurance companies, emphasizing the importance of selecting an insurance provider based on claims-handling quality, not just premium costs.

Sit Down with Crystal from the Finish Strong Foundation

Wednesday Sep 11, 2024
Welcome back to the Injury Law Pod! Eric sat down with Crystal from the Finish Strong Foundation a couple of weeks ago to talk about everything the organization has accomplished this year and her plans for next year! If you don’t know about the Finish Strong Foundation, they are a nonprofit organization that supports young athletes when their families are struggling financially due to illness, injury, death, or any other unexpected traumatic life events.
Crystal's late husband, Mike Tanner, was involved/critically burned and injured in the 2013 JJ’s Gas Explosion at the Country Club Plaza. Keeping their kids in the sports they loved with their friends and coaches during Mike's recovery helped them stay focused during a very unsure and chaotic time. Sadly, Mike passed away in late 2018, and from then on, Crystal has made it her mission to continue her husband's legacy with the Finish Strong Foundation.
We here at Northland Injury Law can't think of a better foundation to support yearly. If you or someone you know would like to donate to this wonderful nonprofit or learn more, click the links below to get connected with Crystal on Facebook or read more on their website.

Capturing Crucial Evidence In Accidents
Wednesday Jul 17, 2024
Wednesday Jul 17, 2024
Welcome back to the Injury Law Pod! We previously did a series on car accidents, covering all the various steps and parts involved in a claim. One of the big things we discussed was dash cams and this week, we want to go more in-depth to better prepare you. Having your own dash cam in your car is a great idea because it can be the difference between making a successful claim or not, especially if there are no witnesses to an accident. Dash cams provide independent evidence of how an accident occurred, showing who was at fault.
The other critical piece of evidence in car accident claims is black box data, officially known as electronic control module devices. Modern cars have these devices, which record various data points, such as speed and braking, leading up to and during an accident. This data is invaluable in determining factors like speeding or lack of attention from the driver at fault.
Both dashcams and black box data are essential tools in making a strong injury claim. If you haven't been in an accident yet, consider getting a dash cam for your vehicle. Remember, proactively preparing for potential accidents can significantly improve your ability to make a claim and seek justice for your injuries.
